The founding Mechanical Engineer came up with the idea for Flying Fish Kayaks when he asked himself one simple question:

How can I adapt electric power to make a kayak accessible to more people? 

​

He wanted people to enjoy the feelings of peace and freedom being on the water brings, but knew it wasn’t always feasible. Boats are bulky and expensive, while standard kayaks require physical effort and stamina to paddle. Kayaks are also traditionally hard to get in and out of.

Expanding on the concept of electric bikes, he brought power to kayaks by adding a trolling motor to a lighter weight, durable and customized kayak. He incorporated a company, and began production.

Now, people can go farther and faster than they ever imagined, with less effort. They’re free to explore the lakes and bays that call to them. The sit-on-top dry ride seats make getting in and out of the kayak easier, so people who are less mobile can experience being on the water.
